Hi! I’m Lyzi.

I’m a documentation engineer and technical writer based in Brooklyn, NY.

My career has taken many different turns, but in every role I’ve been focused on explaining things clearly to help people learn and grow. I believe that words are work, but it’s important work. Helping users succeed is done through clear, kind instructions that meet people where they are.

In my non-computer life, I enjoy playing music (handbells/bass), making art (drawing/knitting), and watching football (Oregon Ducks/Buffalo Bills/I’ll watch basically any football game tbh). In the warmer months I play rec softball, read in the park, and spend a lot of time at the beach. (Taking the train to one of like five beaches is a deeply underrated aspect of living in NYC.) I’ve rarely met a hobby I won’t try, and I love making new friends. Let’s hang out!

I built this website with Hugo. It uses a modified version of the no-style-please theme and the solarized color palette. I added a theme switcher, too: the button in the top left corner toggles between light and dark mode. (I personally like light mode better because it’s the theme I use for my text editor but I’m not the boss of you do what feels right.)
